Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When does the 2011 season begin?

A:  Practices can begin as early as Monday, August 31 (coaches choice) and games begin Saturday, September 10th.

Q: When can I register my player?

A: Registration will open in mid March and will close in late August. However, don’t wait as you will save money by taking advantage of early registration fees. In addition, you have a greater chance of having your player assigned to their prior year team or to the team you may be requesting. The later in the registration process you wait, the more difficult it becomes to return players to their prior year team or to accommodate requests for a player to be on particular team.

Q: Where do I send my registration form?

A: Please mail the registration form to: WYFFL, P.O.  Box 689, Holden, MA  01520.

Q: Can I request that my player be placed on a specific team, with a specific coach and/or with specific players?

A: While there are no guarantees, the league does its best to accommodate team specific requests from parents/guardians. If you have a request, write it on the registration form.

Q: When will my player’s coach contact me?

A: All coaches receive their rosters for the first time on August 30, 2011. Parents can expect contact from their player’s coach within 3-5 business days after August 30, 2011. Please be patient and provide coaches the time to develop these communications.

Q: When are practices?

A: Practice days, times and locations are the decision of each team’s coach. The league is not involved in determining when a coach will practice and will not be aware of individual team practices. Parents need to wait for the initial contact from their player’s coach to learn their team’s practice schedule.

Q: Can I get a refund if my player does not play?

A: It is the leagues policy that all registrations payments are non-refundable.

Q: What equipment does my player need?

A: A mouth guard is required (at all practices and games). Other needed equipment includes cleats (football or soccers cleats, not baseball cleats) and baseball or football pants. Game Shirts are provided by the league.
